I’m thrilled to share how to make the perfect cup of hot chocolate and my Nutella rim tutorial. I’m sharing a sneak peek and exclusive hot chocolate tutorial with my readers, to celebrate. Don’t forget to check back tomorrow for the full reveal. . I love to entertain and this year I decided to switch things up a bit. Home Depot invited me to be one of their 2017 Holiday Style Challenge Bloggers. As a part of my living room makeover, I styled a self-serve hot chocolate bar cart. I was shocked to find that there were no tutorials for hot chocolate that didn’t involve me pulling out a pot, boiling water, and adding ingredients. If you know me, then you know I don’t even own a pot (haha, okay well maybe that’s an exaggeration- or is it?). In an attempt to find a truly easy way to make a cup of hot chocolate, I felt it was time to share the simplest way to make the perfect cup- every single time, without the mess of course. I concocted a delicious Nutella flavored cup rim with crushed graham crackers. It is good….IT IS VERY GOOD!!! I can personally guarantee these are sure to be a hit at your holiday party this year.
Here’s what you’re going to need:
- 12 Oz Disposable Hot Paper Coffee Cups
- Keurig Hot Cocoa K-Cups
- Cinnamon Graham Crackers
- Parchment Paper
- Snack size zip lock bags
- Toppings of choice (I chose marshmallows, peppermint, chocolate chips, chocolate syrup, and apple flavored candy sticks)
- Butter knife
LET’S DO THIS
STEP 1: Place a graham cracker inside of your snack size zip lock bag and crush into super fine crumbs. Then set aside.
STEP 2:Tape down a sheet of parchment paper on all four sides. Spread your Nutella in a circular shape, in the center of your paper.
Step 3: Dip the rim of your cup into the Nutella Spread.
Step 4: Lift your cup making sure the rim is evenly coated with Nutella and set aside
Step 5: Spread your crushed graham crackers on top of your Nutella for an easy mess-free cleanup afterwards.
Step 6:Dip your cup into the crushed graham crackers until the rim is evenly coated. Gently tap the side of the cup to shake off any excess.
Step 7:Voila! Now you’re ready to make your cup of hot chocolate
Step 8:Add your cup sleeves and setup these pre-prepped cups on your bar cart, before your party starts. I had my cup sleeves personalized for a little surprise for my girls, and a festive sign done by my local calligrapher.
STEP 9:Allow your guests to choose their toppings and make their own cup of yummy goodness
STEP 9:Now, go drink and be merry!!!
