My Sweet Savory Decor girls and I decided to do a gift exchange this year! It was absolutely perfect. An evening filled with giggles, glitter everywhere, boxes the size of Texas, and an absolute amazing time. It was the perfect way to start the month off right, with some much needed girl time, before we enter into the thick of the holidays and working retail. The girls loved the DIY ornaments I made for my holiday makeover with HomeDepot, so I decided to make them their very own ornaments for their Christmas trees. You won’t believe how easy this tutorial is! Oriental Trading Company provided me with the ornaments I used. They have several different ornaments to choose from for the holidays. I had my ornaments shipped to Alexis Burt- AMB Home Design. Alexis is located in California, but I’ve partnered with her on several of my calligraphy projects.
DIY GLITTER ORNAMENTS IN JUST 4 EASY STEPSStep 1: Remove the tops of your ornaments and set aside
Step 2: Pour about a tablespoon of floor finish into the ornament and swirl around until the inside is fully coated. Pour the excess floor shine out.
Step 3: Using a funnel, pour the extra fine glitter into the ornament and swirl around until the entire ornament is evenly coated. Shake the excess back into your glitter container.
Step 4: Replace the ornament tops and attach ribbon of your choice. Now they’re ready to hang on your tree. Super simple, just as I promised! They make the perfect gift for a holiday exchange.
I’m a sucker for anything that can be customized! I found personalized white floral robes at Oriental Trading Company, and included these in my gift boxes for the girls. I added in the glitter I used for their ornaments, and a few of my favorite things to complete my gift boxes. The girls loved their gifts and I’m hoping to make this an annual tradition! I hope you guys liked my DIY ornaments and gift ideas. As always, let me know what you think, I’d love to know how yours turns out.
