There comes a time in a decorator’s life when you must purge and do something different…for me that time is now. I finally did it – three days ago I listed my guest bedroom furniture for sale. In just three short days it has sold and if all goes as planned the new owners will be picking everything up on Friday (cue the meltdown). I had a lot of mixed emotions about listing it, and to be honest I never thought it would sell so soon. I was thinking I’d have a month or so before I got any real interest but it all happened so quickly. I remember how long it took me to find each piece, how I waited for months for the prices to drop, how I scoured the aisles of HomeGoods, Marshalls, and Target to find the perfect accents. I’ve been in love with my mirrored furniture and have gotten a lot of great years out of these beautiful pieces. Can I be honest? I wasn’t prepared for this and I threw out a random number thinking ‘if the room sells for this amount at least it would be worth it’. Now that it’s happened it’s so bittersweet. I’ll miss this bedroom set but I’m looking forward to doing something different with the space. I haven’t quite decided what I’m going to do with the room but I know that I want it to be more functional. What do you think I should do with this room? What are some ideas or makeovers you’d like to see.
